The pub offers a great selection of beers, ales and ciders drawn straight from the barrel and a menu of real homemade hearty food. With a devoted following from both the village and further a field, the friendly atmosphere is filled with chatter and laughter especially at the regular events. You’ll also hear the sound of the occasional dog snoring in the corner, without a blaring jukebox or TV.

Mark, Lucie and Jess run the Halfway. They have been part of the Halfway for many years making and creating the delicious meals that appear from the kitchen.  They ensure their customers receive the best choice of real ales, ciders and good food whilst visiting.

The Halfway has won Somerset CAMRA pub of the year 1995, 1997, 2001, 2003, 2011, 2015! As well as being runners up. Awarded 5 stars for its wholesome food and hospitality and received Trip Advisor Travellers Choice Award 2022

There is always an event or a social gathering, from Steak Nights, Quiz Nights, Sloe Gin Making Competitions and Beer Festivals. The Halfway House is the perfect pit stop to enjoy good hearty food and a drink whilst travelling through Somerset. There are plenty of attractions on our door step, and walks to enjoy. If you’re looking to rest your head for a night or two we have The Hut accommodation, which is ideal for a short break.
